Sort,Sort,Sort........

I work in a scrap yard........
I will not sort your metals for you......
(I don't have time)
The more you learn about the way your local scrap yard works
the more they will pay you.....
We get paid by the pound so thats how we pay you.....
If you bring me a box full of mixed metal that is about 50lbs I will give you $2.50
If you sort that box into neet little piles I might give you $15.00

We sort and fill dumpster boxes so the less we have to handle what you bring us
the more we are willing to pay.

here are a few terms to learn....

Alum clip = Thick alum (not cast)
Pressing = clean sheet metal
Prepared = Steel measuring not more that 3ft x 5ft
#1 copper = Clean bright with no solder or paint
